When we were kids, the park had not long since been built.

It used to be a sand and gravel quarry, so lots of places to mess about in. Jumping off sand banks and climbing sandstone cliffs.

The pine plantation, behind us on the picture, leads to the back of the park where we used to go looking for frogs.
