General Notes:
Her birth certificate does not show her middle name. It also shows her father as Edwin Shingler, who we know was married to her mother Harriet, but the story goes that she had an affair with FrancisDuncalf while Edwin was at war. Edwin was also supposed to have been killed in the war (in India SRC:Yvonne Simmonds). However, on the copy of Sarah's Birth cert. he is the signature to obtain it for purposes of the Factory and Workshop Act. The copy is dated 30th Jan 1919, three years after her mother Mary's remarriage, whos marriage certificate states she is a a "widow" ! Her marriage certificate also shows her maiden name as Shingler. It also shows her father as "deceased". I guess this is referring to Edwin and not her real father, Francis. Her death certificate shows her maiden name as Duncalf.
S Swift was present at her birth and the registered informant.
She died of Bronchopneumonia.
